Recently, my group expanded their activities to projects related to atrial fibrillation (AF), a rhythm disorder increasingly being recognized as a thrombotic disease.
See my AF publications in PubMed.
Mainly, my research activities in this field include prognostic assessment and management of AF.
The CAFe study is a cluster randomized trial improving anticoagulant prescription in primary care. The study has recently been finished and the database is locked. We are currently in the phase of data analyses. The study included over 2,000 patients with AF, all managed in primary care.
The ALL-IN trial is a cluster randomized trial in primary care, comparing usual care with integrated management (at least 500 patients in each treatment arm). The study recently finsihed inclusion of patients and is in the phase of follow-up. Results are expected in 2019.
The FRAIL-AF trial is a large randomized controlled trial comparing treatment with traditional vitamin K anatagonists (VKA) with switching treatment from VKA to a non-VKA oral anticoagulant in frail elderly AF patients. The study will start including patients late 2017. Results are expected in 2020.
